Based on the bookings made in 2023, the top-booked hotels reveal varying preferences of airasia MOVE users across different regions. In Malaysia, the most-booked hotels were in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, hotels in Palembang and Bangkok topped the lists for Indonesia and Thailand, respectively. In the Philippines, Manila and Boracay secured the top positions in terms of hotel bookings.
A substantial 74% of the bookings fall between the range of RM250 and RM400 per night, with a strong preference for boutique accommodations featuring unique themes that provide a balance of affordability and comfort.
In terms of traveller types, couples and solo adventurers took the lead, constituting 43.8% and 33.8% of the user base, respectively, followed by group travellers at 13.6% and families at 8.8%. It highlights a travel trend towards more intimate and independent exploration, emphasising airasia move’s appeal as a convenient OTA (online travel agent) platform to a diverse array of traveller profiles.
While for Flight + Hotel (SNAP), a product featuring flights and hotels together in one booking, a notable 15% of the bookings were made 8 to 14 days leading up to the planned arrival.
