February 11, 2026 -- Allianz Malaysia Berhad’s (Allianz Malaysia) corporate social responsibility arm, together with its social partner Yayasan Kajian dan Pembangunan Masyarakat (YKPM) is seeing encouraging progress among participants of the Orang Asli Sustainable Livelihood Green Economy Programme (programme).
Since 2024, the programme aims to empower Orang Asli communities in Pekan, Pahang, to learn, build, and lead self-sustaining social enterprises through agroforestry, while strengthening food security and enabling them to rise above the poverty threshold.
Following a strategic expansion into a new phase started in August 2025, the programme has extended its reach to 70 farmers from 42 households and positively impacting 1,318 villagers across six villages. This new phase provides an enhanced foundation through collective farming practices, more centralised infrastructure, efficient logistics, broader income-generating opportunities, as well as leadership and community development initiatives.
As of January 2026, the initiative has empowered 42 Orang Asli families on generating substantial income, alongside continued investments in infrastructure development to support long-term sustainability.
