Questions around this news
Where is the new distribution centre being developed?
The project comprises two buildings within Frasers Property Logistics Park (Bangna 2), in a Free Zone area on Bangna-Trat Road in Chachoengsao Province. The site is in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor. The release says completion of the distribution centre is expected in November 2024.
What is a Free Zone warehouse?
A Free Zone warehouse is located in an area where customs rules may allow goods to be stored, handled, or processed under special procedures. Depending on local regulations, duties or taxes may be deferred while goods remain in the zone. The applicable rules and benefits vary by country and by the goods and activities involved.
What are New S-Curve industries?
The term generally refers to newer or emerging industries expected to create growth beyond established sectors. “S-curve” describes a pattern in which adoption or expansion starts slowly, accelerates as a market develops, and eventually levels off. Which industries are included depends on the country’s economic strategy; the term does not identify one fixed global list.
What does TREES assess in a building?
The release says the warehouse will adhere to Thai Rating of Energy and Environmental Sustainability standards and highlights recycled-content materials, low-VOC materials, and efficient energy management. In general, a building sustainability rating evaluates environmental performance using criteria such as energy and resource use, materials, and indoor environmental quality.
