-- SWIFT HAULAGE BERHAD (“Swift” or “Swift Group”), Malaysia’s largest haulier and leading integrated logistics service provider, announced the official launch of its Green Logistics division at a landmark event held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (“MITEC”). The launch signified a significant step by Swift towards sustainable and environmentally conscious logistics solutions.

The event, graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Tuan Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia, also marks the handover of Malaysia’s first electric prime movers to Unilever Malaysia, a global leader in consumer goods. The event is proudly co-hosted by AmBank Group, a key stakeholder providing crucial financing for the electric prime movers. In a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions and promoting a cleaner environment, AmBank has extended its financial support to Swift’s procurement of state-of-the-art electric prime movers. This green financing initiative aligns with AmBank’s dedication to fostering eco-conscious practices and contributing to Malaysia’s efforts to combat climate change.
This event is a culmination of two remarkable firsts in Malaysia’s logistics landscape. Swift, known for its innovation and commitment to sustainability, becomes the first logistics player to adopt electric prime movers, underscoring its role as a pioneer in the industry. Simultaneously, Unilever Malaysia proudly becomes the first client to embrace these groundbreaking electric vehicles, setting a new standard for sustainability and environmental responsibility in their supply chain.
Notably, despite Swift’s dominant position with a fleet of over 1,500 prime movers (the largest in Malaysia), the company is taking the first step to adopt electric prime movers. What sets Swift apart is not only their scale but also their commitment to procuring only electric prime movers or other trucks powered by renewable sources from 2030 onwards, making them trailblazers in sustainable logistics practices.
