Questions around this news

  1. What is the 21-Day Digital Recycling Challenge?

It is an online educational initiative created through a partnership between Indorama Ventures and YoungHappy. Daily activities adapted from Indorama Ventures’ Waste Hero Education Program are intended to give older adults practical guidance on recycling, with a focus on PET bottles and plastic waste management.

  2. Who is the recycling challenge designed to reach, and what does it aim to achieve?

The program is designed for more than 200 seniors across Thailand. Its stated target is for at least 20% of participants to show measurable improvement in recycling knowledge and behavior. The initiative also seeks to help seniors bring recycling practices into their everyday routines and household habits.

  3. What is PET, and why is it relevant to bottle recycling?

PET, or polyethylene terephthalate, is a lightweight plastic commonly used to make beverage bottles and food containers. It can be collected, sorted and processed into recycled material for use in new products. Proper sorting and recycling help keep PET bottles in material recovery systems rather than in general waste.
