Questions around this news

  1. What is the Grown-Up Playground?

It is a temporary play space at Samyan Mitrtown, created for adults as part of Bangkok Design Week 2024. Its six pieces of play equipment include slides, monkey bars and a climbing wall. The installation is intended to encourage visitors to reconnect with childhood memories, take a break from everyday pressures and reflect on their well-being.

  2. What are the three themes of the playground?

The experience is arranged around three themes: letting go of worries, rediscovering a playful side, and reflecting on how to create a more balanced life. The sequence is designed to move visitors from setting aside everyday concerns, through playful activities, to personal reflection about their life and priorities.

  3. What does modular design mean for play equipment?

Modular design uses separate components that can be combined into a larger structure. For play equipment, this can allow different elements—such as climbing features and slides—to form one installation. The term describes an approach to arranging and assembling parts; it does not by itself specify how a particular structure is built or used.
