-- Axis Real Estate Investment Trust (“Axis-REIT”) has sponsored a brand new 14-seater van to Shelter Home for Children as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Shelter Home for Children is a registered welfare organisation which has been in existence for over 4 decades since 1981. The aim of the organisation is to help abused, abandoned and neglected children irrespective of their race and religion. The home is also involved in rescuing and sheltering children from risky and dangerous environments whereby these children will be provided with a stable, healthy environment to help them overcome the traumas of abuse which they have been enduring. The sponsorship of the van is used to transport the children to school and back, attend extracurricular activities and for medical care.
Since June 2023, Axis-REIT has also been sponsoring weekly physiotherapy and speech therapy programmes for children with disabilities at IQ70+, which is a home for special needs children . As part of this service, professionally trained therapists from Pantai Hospital conduct visits to IQ70+ for the convenience of the children.
Axis REIT Managers Berhad chief executive officer/executive director Leong Kit May said, “We are humbled to be able to do our part for the community in whatever ways we can. We are pleased that we were able to help out the shelter home with the provision of a new van to replace their current old one.”
